Gears of Horus is played on a 6x6 game grid, which can be enhanced to 8x8 thanks to some of its bonus features. It uses a cluster-pay mechanic, with winning clusters formed of five or more matching symbols.

Like many cluster-play slots, Gears of Horus has a Tumble Mechanic that is activated with each win. Winning symbols are removed, and new ones fall onto the reels. This continues until no new winning clusters are formed.
