Nitropolis 4 review
It’s time to take another trip to the crazed dystopian world of Nitropolis in the Nitropolis 4 slot from ELK Studios. The last entry in the series, Nitropolis 3, was a huge success for the developer, so they have decided to pay it one more visit. Does the slot live up to the standard set by the other three, though? Let’s take a look in this Nitropolis 4 slot review.
Nitropolis 4 Theme and Design
Nitropolis 4 reunites players with the crazy-looking animals that have populated the series. This time around, they have moved away from the toxic mess of the city out onto an oil rig. This is all introduced to players through a fun animated opening sequence.
The series’ cartoon-like post-apocalyptic visuals have become instantly recognisable, and ELK Studios does a good job of expanding the world and moving it to a slightly new location for the fourth entry.
How to Play Nitropolis 4
The Nitropolis 4 slot uses a 6x4 game grid with 4,096 ways to win. The gameplay gets exciting whenever you land a win, with the slot removing winning symbols from the grid and new ones falling down. This continues to happen until no more wins are formed.
Every time you win, an additional row is added to the top of the reels. This significantly boosts the number of ways to win. The rows are then reset after each winning sequence.
The slot boasts some big winning potential, with a maximum win of 50,000x your stake available. The RTP is 94%, which puts it below the industry average of 96% and is something we would recommend being cautious of. The slot is highly volatile, though, which is always a selling point.
Nitropolis 4 Bonus Features
ELK Studios has stacked the Nitropolis 4 slot with bonus features. Firstly, you will notice big symbols landing on the reels. These are 2x2 in size. There are also Mega Symbols, which are 3x3.
You will also encounter Nitro Reels, which are special reels taking up two positions on the grid. These contain anywhere between four and 12 symbols. There are bigger versions, covering six symbols on the grid as well.
Speaking of things that cover two positions, you will also encounter Nitro Multipliers. These take up two positions but count as one symbol. They show values worth up to x12 and will multiply all wins on the reels.
One of the biggest selling points of the game is the Nitro Booster. This is displayed above the reels, and it can trigger one of eight modifiers. These include:
- Redrop: This replaces all symbols on the grid besides Bonus symbols, Wild Symbols, Nitro Mulipliers and Nitro Reels.
- Both Ways: This allows wins to pay both ways.
- Garbage Collect: Some symbols are removed, and an avalanche is triggered.
- Max Rows: This one expands the grid to the full 6x8 size.
- Nitro Appear: This adds a random Nitro Reel to the grid.
- Nitro Upgrade: This upgrades a Nitro symbol in view.
- Nitro Wild: A Nitro reel will be filled with Wilds.
- Nitro Match: A Nitro Reel matches with another symbol to make a winning combination. If no Nitro Reels exist, this is held until one does.
Finally, there is the Nitropolis 4 Free Spins bonus. Three, four, five, or six Scatters triggers eight, 12, 16, or 20 spins. Nitro Reels become sticky during the round. The safety level of the rows increases by one on each winning spin. There is also a Super Free Spins round where maximum rows and the Both Ways features are active.
Nitropolis 4 Slot Verdict
The Nitropolis series has always been a fun one to spend with, and it serves up more highly volatile, bonus-packed action here. Unfortunately, the RTP is too low, something that has been a trait of the studios in recent times, and this is a sticking point in terms of recommendations. If you can look past the RTP, then there is some great gameplay to be had here, but you should at least be aware of it before you play.
