R.I.P City review
R.I.P City is a slot that sounds like it could be about all sorts of sinister things. One thing that you probably didn’t anticipate, though, is a gangster-inspired cat-and-mouse duo battling it out down a dingy alley. The game’s title, as it happens, is in relation to the city that it is set in. The slot was designed by Hacksaw Gaming, a company that has made a name for itself with its quirky game designs. Let’s take a trip to R.I.P City and find out how the slot ranks compared to its other titles.
R.I.P City Theme and Design
Hacksaw Gaming has quite a distinct visual style, and it is on full display with R.I.P City. It uses a retro animation style to bring its characters and settings to life. The aforementioned cat-and-mouse duo are the big focus here. They are called Maxx and Ross, and they stand on either side of the reels, scowling at one another as you spin the reels. It creates a fun visual and injects the game with plenty of personality. The background for the reels is a dark alley, but Hacksaw Gaming manages to add more colour with bright yellow symbols and bursts of animation.
How to Play R.I.P City
R.I.P City looks quirky, but its gameplay is actually very conventional. The game uses a 5x5 grid, which is slightly bigger than the standard but doesn’t impact gameplay too much. The slot has 19 fixed paylines on each spin.
The maximum win in the slot is a very nice 12,500x the player’s stake, which is going to be attractive. The RTP clocks in at a generous 96.22%, above the industry average. Hacksaw Gaming considers the game to be highly volatile.
R.I.P City Bonus Features
The R.I.P City slot bonuses are focused around the two central characters. The first feature players will probably encounter is the Expanding Wild. This symbol will only expand if one of the spaces it can expand into will help to form a winning combination. If the Wild expands through another Wild, then it will become a Multiplier. This can be up to a maximum of x200.
The main bonuses in the game are the free spins rounds. If you land three Bonus symbols, then you will trigger the Ross Free Spins. Players get ten spins to enjoy, with an increased chance of landing Expanding Wilds throughout.
If you land four Bonus symbols, then the Maxx Free Spins are launched. During this round, if a Cat Wild lands on a reel, then it becomes active. Once it has been activated, a Wild symbol is guaranteed to land on it for every subsequent spin in the round. This can lead to some of the biggest wins available in the slot.
If you don’t want to wait until a Bonus symbol hits, then you can use the Buy Bonus feature. This presents players with a selection of options, with the maximum cost being x200 for the Maxx Spins. This may not be available to players in all locations.
R.I.P City Slot Verdict
Hacksaw Gaming is a developer that knows how to deliver a memorable slot. The R.I.P City slot game has a memorable design that will likely live in your head for a while afterwards. The two characters are quirky and fun, and the animation-style really makes this slot stand out from the pack. It also has some substance to match that style though, with the bonus features offering some good winning potential. This is definitely a slot worth taking for a spin.
