Rocket Reels Slot review
It’s time to blast off into outer space with the Rocket Reels slot from Hacksaw Gaming. Hacksaw loves to be innovative with its slots, and what better theme to choose than outer space? The slot is focused on a small group of spaceships that find themselves looking for precious gems on a far-flung planet. It’s all very generic, but don’t let this fool you, because nothing is ever quite as simple as it seems with Hacksaw Gaming as you are about to find out in this Rocket Reels review.
Rocket Reels Theme and Design
When it comes to originality, Rocket Reels is not Hacksaw Gaming’s most daring outing. The slot is set on a non-descript purple planet, with the symbols on the reels being made up of gems and various bits of space equipment. It’s not exactly rewriting the rule book, but it still boasts solid graphics, and the simple design lends itself really well to mobile play.
How to Play Rocket Reels
You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to the reels rolling here. The slot uses an enhanced 7x7 grid and a cluster-pay mechanic. Winnings are secured through landing clusters of five or more symbols in one go. Like most cluster-pay slots, there is also a Cascading feature active that sees winning clusters disappear off the reels and be replaced with new ones.
In the Rocket Reels demo we played, the betting ranged from £0.20-£100, though this may not be representative of all versions of the slot.
As always, Hacksaw doesn’t disappoint in the numbers department. The slot has an RTP of 96.3% and offers a maximum win of 10,000x the player's stake. These are similar numbers to what can be found in other Hacksaw games like Itero and Stack Em.
Rocket Reels Bonus Features
Hacksaw Gaming never cuts corners when it comes to its bonus features, and they have got quite the selection lined up here. Firstly, there are the three Rocket symbols. Whenever players manage to land three rockets on the grid, they will blast off and leave from the top. All symbols that they fly over are turned into multipliers, while new symbols will fall into the space of any other symbols destroyed by the rockets. Once this has been done, new winnings are calculated. If there is more than one multiplier on the grid, then they will be added together. There are three rockets. Rocket 1 has multipliers of x1, x2, x3, x4, and x5, Rocket 2 has multipliers of x10, x15 or x20, and Rocket 3 has multipliers of x25, x50, and x75.
As well as the rockets, there is also a UFO symbol that can appear out of nowhere. When this happens, it will suck up between 20 and all of the symbols on the grid, and new ones will then drop down, often leading to winning clusters.
Finally, if you land three of the Spaceman symbols, then the Free Spins bonus is launched. Players get eight free spins and during the round, all Rocket symbols immediately blast off, without the need to land three.
If you want to jump straight to the head of the queue, you can use the Buy Bonus option to do this. However, this will not be available in all territories.
Rocket Reels Slot Verdict
While it may not deliver the memorable theme that some of Hacksaw Gaming’s other products do, Rocket Reels still delivers a top-quality slot experience. It takes things we have come to expect from their games, including multipliers, free spins, and cluster-pays, and puts a slightly different twist on them. There is also room for plenty of big wins thanks to some top bonus features. We definitely recommend strapping in and shooting off into space with this one.
