Big Bass Mission Fishing Slot review
The Big Bass Bonanza series has been Pragmatic Play’s defining series in recent years. The original Big Bass Bonanza hit virtual casino lobbies in 2020, and players lapped it up. In the time since, there have been countless spin-offs and sequels, each of which has tweaked the formula ever so slightly. Next up is Big Bass Mission Fishing, which adds a little bit of espionage flavor to the proceedings. Let’s cast our lines and see whether this is worth taking the bait for in this Big Bass Mission Fishing slot review.
Big Bass Mission Fishing Theme and Design
The fisherman character that has become the mascot for the Big Bass Bonanza series has been given a stylish spy makeover in Big Bass Mission Fishing. He appears as a reel on the symbols as well as on the game’s loading screen.
The fishing equipment you typically find on the reels in a Big Bass game has also been given a spy-inspired makeover, with a grappling hook replacing the traditional fishing rod. The slot has also switched to night-time and replaced the typically upbeat soundtrack with a cooler tune that sounds as though it could have been taken straight from a Mission Impossible movie.
How to Play Big Bass Mission Fishing
Big Bass Mission Fishing keeps things basic with its base game. The slot uses five reels and three rows, with ten active paylines on each spin. Players will win when they land three or more matching symbols along a line.
The slot has a strong math model. It has an RTP of 96.50% and has been given a 5/5 volatility rating from Pragmatic Play. The maximum win in the game is 5,000x of your stake, which is around what we have come to expect from the Big Bass series.
Big Bass Mission Fishing Bonus Features
If you have played a Big Bass slot before, you will not be surprised to see the Money Symbol and Collect features present again.
First, players need to land three or more Scatters to trigger one of two rounds. If you choose the Free Spins round, then three, four, or five Scatters will trigger 10, 15, or 20 spins, respectively.
At the start of the round, players are presented with a pick-me-style bonus when they can unlock modifiers for the round. The modifiers are as follows:
- More Fish: An increased number of Money Fish symbols are present during the round.
- More Fisherman: An increased number of Fisherman Wild symbols are available in the round.
- More Dynamites, Hooks & Bazookas: During the round, there is an increased chance of the dynamite, hooks, or bazooka spin feature.
- Start from Level 2: The round starts at level 2 in the progress meter.
- +2 Spins: The round starts with two additional spins, and two additional spins are added to every retrigger.
During the round, any time a Fish symbol lands with a Fisherman symbol, it is collected and paid out. All Fisherman symbols are also collected when they land. Every fourth Fisherman will trigger ten more spins. A multiplier of 2x, 3x, and 10x are added for the second, third, and fourth time this happens.
Randomly, if there is a Fisherman symbol but no fish, the Dynamite spin feature can trigger and Fish can be added. If it is the other way around, the Hook feature triggers and can drag a Fisherman onto the reels. Finally, if there is a Fisherman but no Fish, the Bazooka feature can trigger, blowing up and changing all symbols except for the Fisherman.
Alternatively, if players opt for the Stack the Cash feature when they hit three Scatters, they will enter a respin style bonus. In the round, normal symbols are removed, and only Fish Coin symbols and blanks are available.
The Fish Coins can display either x1, x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x9, x10, or x25. At the start of the round, players have four respins. Every time a Fish Coin hits, it sticks to the reels and resets the spin count. A robo-crab is present under the reels and will collect a reel’s Coins if it gets full. Whenever a new Fish Coin symbol hits, a bomb drops on a random reel, doubling the value of all Fish Coins and the robo-crabs.
At the end of the round, all of the robo-crab values are added together and paid out.
Depending on your location, you may have the chance to use the ante-bet feature, which creates a higher chance of triggering the bonus, and the Buy feature, which allows you to enter the bonus round for a pre-set fee.
Big Bass Mission Fishing Slot Verdict
Big Bass Mission Fishing is another good entry in the Big Bass series. The slot uses a re-spin style bonus, as we have seen before in Big Bass Bonanza Hold & Spinner, and provides a solid math model with a good RTP and a 5,000x maximum win. Overall, if you are a fan of the series, then this is another boat trip worth taking. If, however, you are looking for something new from the genre entirely, you may be a little disappointed.
