Moon Princess Trinity Slot review
The original Moon Princess slot was a huge hit for Play’n Go. The title focused on three princesses, all of which had clearly drawn inspiration from the popular Sailor Moon anime series. The slot proved to be a success among players, with two spin-offs, Moon Princess 100 and Moon Princess Christmas Kingdom, following shortly after. The newest addition to the franchise is the Moon Princess Trinity slot, with all three women back on the reels offering up their modifiers. Let’s find out where this one ranks in the series in this Moon Princess slot review.
Moon Princess Trinity Theme and Design
Play’n Go found a winning formula with the original Moon Princess slot, and, as such, Moon Princess Trinity does little to shake things up. The slot uses the same arcade-like animation style to bring the three princesses to life, with each of them appearing on the side of the reels and showcasing their powers. A pumped-up 90s-style soundtrack plays in the background as you spin the reels, finishing off the cool-retro anime vibe that the slot gives off.
How to Play Moon Princess Trinity
Once again, Moon Princess Trinity follows in the footsteps of its predecessor with its base gameplay. The slot uses a 5x5 grid, with no traditional paylines. Instead, winning combinations are formed when players land combinations of three matching symbols on adjacent reels anywhere across the grid.
The slot also uses a cascade-like feature, with winning symbols disappearing and new ones falling down. This happens until no new winning combinations can be formed. To spice things up, there is a win multiplier that is active on each drop. This increases by one with each drop, and resets when they end.
The maths model here is a little disappointing. The standard version of the slot comes with an RTP of 94.2%, which puts it lower than average, though Play’n Go does produce multiple versions. The slot is highly volatile, however, which will attract some players. The maximum win here is 4,000x your stake.
Moon Princess Trinity Bonus Features
Like previous entries in the series, the bonus features here are all about triggering the powers of the three characters.
One useful feature in the game is the addition of Wild symbols whenever you land a win and trigger a cascade. Winning combinations leave a Wild in their place to help continue the winning streak. There are also highlighted spots on the reels; if a win is formed in the space, the multiplier is increased.
Onto the three modifiers. Each character has a modifier that can trigger on any random spin. Love transforms one set of symbols into another, Star adds up to two Wilds to the reels, and Storm removes two sets of symbols.
A meter to the left of the reels is filled whenever you score a win. If you can fill the meter in one cascading sequence, then a Trinity Spin is triggered. This is a free spin where each of the three characters uses their powers. You can retrigger this by emptying the grid.
Moon Princess Trinity Slot Verdict
The Moon Princess series has been a big hit for Play’n Go, and long-time fans of the series will be happy to see the characters back on the screen. However, the reduced winning potential of the slot is not likely to please, and it is also not likely to convert new players to the series. That said, it is still nicely designed, and the bonus features come together nicely to lead to some nice sequences if your luck is in.
