Time Spinners Slot review
Hacksaw Gaming has explored some interesting themes over the years, but the very concept of time itself might be one of its most interesting. Time is the name of the game in the Time Spinners slot, with hourglasses, mysterious books, and the looming spectre of death all making appearances here. It’s a unique concept, but is it one that Hacksaw Gaming manages to make work? Let’s take a look in this Time Spinners review and find out.
Time Spinners Theme and Design
Tackling the topic of time makes it a tricky one, and the design of Time Spinners captures that confusion a little. The game has quite a dark and dreary style; one that lacks the usual visual wow factor that Hacksaw Gaming slots have. The symbols on the reels are colourful enough, but they are slightly at odds with the dark colour palette of the background. The Borrowed Time feature also introduces ghost-like figures into the mix, leaning into the more existential elements of time. As Hacksaw Gaming slots go, it is one of their less-enjoyable designs.
How to Play Time Spinners
While the theme of Time Spinners may be a little different, the base gameplay is kept fairly standard. The slot uses five reels and three rows with 10 ways to win active on every spin. The stake is adjusted on the right-hand side using the +/- buttons. The amount you will be able to bet in the game will vary between different casinos.
The slot does pack some good winning potential. The maximum win in the game is 10,000x the player’s stake, while the RTP sits at 96.19%, putting it just above the industry average of 96%.
Time Spinners Bonus Features
Pocket watch Wild symbols are the key to success in Time Spinners. The Wild reveals a value if it is part of a winning combination. This can be anywhere between x2 and x12. If more than one multiplier lands on one payline, then they are added together. A maximum of 10 Wilds can land in the base game, with the maximum being 15 in the bonus rounds.
There are also golden watches that land. When these land, they trigger the Sync Your Watches bonus and all Wilds will sync to the highest multiplier on the grid.
The main bonus in the slot is the Borrowed Time bonus feature. This is triggered when you land three Ghost symbols on one spin. The bonus is split into two phases, the Collect phase and the Payout phase.
In the Collect phase, all symbols other than the Wilds, some special symbols, and blank symbols are removed. The Wilds perform as they do in the base game. The Echo symbol reveals a value up to x10 and adds it to all watches in a 3x3 area around it. The Epic Echo comes with a x2, x3, x4 and x5 multiplier, and it multiplies all Watch symbols in a 3x3 area round. The round rewards three re-spins, with the watches sticking on the reels.
When this phase ends, the Payout phase begins. All of the Sticky Watches remain on the reels and a number of free spins are rewarded. This is determined by the number of Watch symbols you landed in the Collect phase.
If you want to cheat time a little, then you can use the Buy Bonus option. However, this is not available in all territories.
Time Spinners Slot Verdict
Time Spinners, while an enjoyable slot, is not one of Hacksaw Gaming’s more memorable outings. The theme is quite unique, but it fails to resonate due to its often quite dark tone. The bonus features are fun and can provide some big winnings, but they are nothing that you wouldn’t be able to find in other, more cheerful Hacksaw Gaming slots. The game is still worth a spin, but it may leave you feeling a little cold.
