Big Bass Bonanza: Hold and Spinner review
It’s difficult to imagine that even the most optimistic of Pragmatic Play developers would have foreseen the success of the Big Bass Bonanza slot games. The original slot, released at the end of 2020 by Pragmatic Play and Reel Kingdom, was an instant hit with players, prompting the company to release a sequel, Bigger Bass Bonanza, and several spin-offs. The main character from the game has even appeared in his own slot, Club Tropicana. Well, the franchise is back for another entry with Big Bass Bonanza: Hold and Spinner. How does this compare to the other entries? Let’s take a look in this Big Bass Bonanza: Hold and Spinner slot review and find out.
Big Bass Bonanza: Hold and Spinner Theme and Design
The Big Bass Bonanza series has an established blueprint by now, and it hasn’t strayed too far from this. The slot’s reels are floating beneath the surface of a lake, with the symbols featuring various bits of fishing equipment and, of course, the fish themselves.
Like other entries in the series, the game has a really upbeat tone, and it looks great on both desktop and mobile. The main character is front and centre again, with the game’s graphics looking even better than in previous entries.
How to Play Big Bass Bonanza: Hold and Spinner
Pragmatic Play has not wandered too far from the well-worn path with the Big Bass Bonanza: Hold and Spinner base game. The action takes place on a 5x3 grid with just 10 paylines active on every spin.
You can adjust the stake by using the +/- buttons on either side of the spin icon. You will also find the autoplay button underneath this.
The slot serves up a maximum win of 10,000x your stake, which is similar to what we have seen in other entries. The RTP is average at 96.07%, though, as with all of their slots, Pragmatic Play has released multiple versions. The developer has rated the slot a full 5/5 for volatility.
Big Bass Bonanza: Hold and Spinner Bonus Features
All the fun to be had in this game is in the bonus rounds. The series’ hugely popular collection feature makes a return, and the new titular feature helps it stand out from other entries.
Three or more Scatters will trigger the Free Spins round. During the round, whenever a Fisherman Wild symbol lands alongside a Fish symbol, it will reel it and collect it. Wild symbols are also collected, with every fourth one triggering extra spins. The first time this happens, you will get a x2 multiplier, the second time, you will get x3, and the third and final time, you will get x10. These will be applied to all wins.
The shiny new bonus in the slot is the Hold and Spinner feature. This triggers whenever you land three Money symbols. The triggering symbols are held in place, and four respins are rewarded. The respins take place on a different set of reels, with only Money symbols and blank spaces appearing. Every time a new symbol lands, it will collect all values on the reels. The respin count is then reset.
Big Bass Bonanza: Hold and Spinner Slot Verdict
Big Bass Bonanza: Hold and Spinner is a great entry in the Big Bass Bonanza series. While it may only add one new bonus to the mix, Pragmatic Play and Reel Kingdom have perfected this series, and there is not a lot of need to shake things up. Fans of the series will find a lot to enjoy, and newcomers will no doubt be won over by its charms.
